What a beautiful picture! Love the big smile, and a very pretty quilt.Tracy, Silas looks like he may be a um, BIG fella. Do you mind is I ask how big he is, or how it is going for you with such a big guy to hoist around? Miles is so big I think I may need help maintaining the health of my back... and I'm being serious. He is so big. I like it--he is so healthy and sturdy with two older brothers romping about. But it is physically very difficult.
Kim, Thank you! You know...I think he is big-- but he is nothing compared to how big Riley was (and still is- for his age!). Silas is 7.5 months and I haven't weighed him since a 6 mo check up, but I'd guess he is about 22-23lbs. Not huge...but definitely bigger than his same-age counterparts we see around. You know what's funny? Silas won't eat table food. He simply does not care for eating. He'll cry and cry and spit it all out. I'm going to wait it out a couple of months before I get concerned, but for now...he's purely breastfed. As for the physical difficulty...I wouldn't classify myself as an "attachment parent" so I don't wear my babies much. In fact, I only wear them and carry them around when I need to (i.e. we're out and about or on a walk or riding bikes on the farm). This saves my back, big time. Also, when the baby is tired or fussy, he gets put down at the least and goes to bed at most. This also restricts the time carrying them around.Does this make me seem like a mean-ol-mother? I don't mean for it to come across this way. I love my babies...it's just life in a busy (tiny) home with three boys who must learn to prefer their brother (literally!) =)
I do remember how big Riley was. I thought for sure Silas must be in the same growth schedule--he just seems big and tall and so healthy.Miles has just turned 4 months, and I think he is already 22 pounds. He is wearing 9 to 12 month clothes. I'm not really attachment parent or otherwise, but this baby is so difficult to lug around. I really need a home gym or something to keep my core strength up with his rate of growth. A 22 pound 4 month old does not hang on yet when I carry him, is not able to be on my back just yet. I have a hard time getting out for a walk, let alone the grocery store. My back is killing me! I hope this little guy learns to walk soon! He is just growing so fast. He already has teeth!
