Birthday Party at Sequoia Park

We celebrated Riley's 4th birthday at Sequoia Park in Eureka, CA in early September. A bunch of our friends came out for pizza and chocolate cake. The weather was "record-breakingly" beautiful and warm. I love Humboldt in September.

If you are ever unsure what to get a four year old boy for his birthday, just ask Chris Panza. This stomp rocket was removed from the box as soon as possible and put to good use within a matter of seconds. Adults and kids alike enjoyed seeing how high in the sky they could shoot a rocket.

Like a good boyscout, Daniel Gent climbed a tree, probably around 120 feet high, to try to rescue a wayward rocket...but alas...it was ever found. Thank you anyway Daniel!

Garrett Taylor artwork on a family favorite book...the Complete World of Pooh.

Steve Taylor (Garrett's Dad) artwork on Riley's favorite matchbox cars and trucks. (I saved this brown paper bag-- I know, I know, silly you might think...but it was too cute to toss.)

Costco's famous "All American Chocolate Cake"

More than any boy could want (or ever need)
My two favorite littles sleeping in Grandma's hotel room after a big day at the party.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for such a great day!

I love seeing Abram sleeping on all of your beautiful homemade blankets. I made a little patch quilt myself for Evan but sadly I didn't make the seams wide enough and it fell apart in the wash. I guess I will just have to try again.
