(after church activity)
Gigi and Grandpa bought Riley a sweet fishing pole, complete with tackle and all necessary things. Riley and Papa sat out by the lake for a few hours...all the while Tom telling Riley fishing is all about "patience...you never know when the fish will bite." I was inside making dinner thinking about them. Hoping Riley wouldn't be too discouraged with the sport...knowing he'd give up soon because there weren't any fish in the lake.
I'm at home in the kitchen and I hear screaming...Riley screaming...all the way home. I thought he must've gotten hurt somehow and I was prepared to wipe off his "owies" and comfort him. He busted through our door, red faced, smiling from ear to ear, shouting, "I CAUGHT A FISH!!!!" I couldn't believe it....sure enough...
An 8" catfish!
It was the perfect lesson for his little heart, learning to love God. On this Easter Sunday, a day we celebrate new life, we were able to discuss the real "catch" (purpose) in life.
And Jesus said to them, "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men."
