Spent the good part of the week on the Smith River...or thereabouts. Met with Steve Patterson AKA "BFG", Kevin Sutter AKA Kevlar Sue, and two other friends.
The weather was perfect...warm and sunny...but not too hot to warrant needing shade. BFG knows these parts better than anyone so we stayed off the beaten path at night and swam in secret spots by day. And by that, I mean, s-e-c-r-e-t...so don't ask.
Riley still naps for several hours during the middle of the day...so we pitched a fort for him and he slept in style. When he went to sleep, the goggles went on, the towels came off and we swam for hours.
Around the campfire...we shared stories about Jesus...how we all love Him, want more of Him, and what He has done in our lives. How awesome is the body of Christ-- that upon meeting other believers for the first time (Pami....and Rex, sort of) tears and laughter come easy.
"We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words." 1 Cor. 2:12-13
